Mark Holden and Elizabeth Fearon
Wedding, 1995
This is an installation i did with Elizabeth Fearon. We bonded by burning our hands
together with cigarettes.  It was our first marriage.  Later we were married legally.  The
24 boxes were made out of latex that looked like skin.  We burned each corner like we
burnt our hands.  The opening of the installation was in darkness with each box
illuminated.  We slowly let the lights burn out, and by the end of the opening it was dark.
It was about an intense experience that leaves a scar.   We were both 24 years old at
the time of the installation, hence 24 boxes.
